Why Can't You See Your Google Search Ad Even with the Right Keyword?
Many people wonder why their ad does not appear on Google when they search for the exact phrase, even after setting up all their Google Ads keywords. What causes this, and how can you fix it? Don't worry: Optimus will answer your questions.
Before investigating why the ad is not showing, open Google Ads, find the keyword you want to check and hover over its status to see the reason.

Google usually reports basic causes so users can make adjustments. If Google says it cannot determine the cause, consider the following:
1. Is the person testing in the target audience?
If you target customers of a certain age or gender, the person testing must also meet those targeting conditions. If you target the ‘Unknown’ group, you can use Incognito mode to test.
The same applies to location targeting: if you target Hanoi, people in Ho Chi Minh City will not see the ad in search results.
2. Has your campaign used up its daily budget?
If your budget for the day is VND 200,000 but almost all of it has been spent when you test, the ad is very unlikely to appear.
3. Have you searched repeatedly during the day to test without clicking the ads?
If so, Google's system will identify the content at the top of search results as irrelevant to you and stop showing the ads as often.
Also, if your CPC is too low, your ads may not appear at the top of search results, making them hard to find. You need to increase CPC, but by how much?
>> Use Keyword Planner to bid at the high-range top-of-page CPC to ensure the ad appears.

If possible, also check Ad Preview:
Step 1: Tools and settings > Ad Preview and Diagnosis

Step 2: Set Location/Language/Device to match the campaign's targeting > Enter the keyword you want to search for.

4. Google's algorithm
Google's algorithm works through bidding. Every time someone enters a keyword on Google, the system starts an auction. Many advertiser changes take place in each auction: someone may add new keywords, raise bids or increase budgets. These factors can affect whether your ad appears while you test.
5. Match type
Before searching, check the keyword's match type. For example, if it is an exact match keyword, adding words or changing their order in your search will also prevent the ad from appearing.
6. Bid strategies
Check and adjust bids based on factors such as device and time schedule.
For example, if ads are set to show only on mobile, a desktop search will not show them. If ads are scheduled only from 7:00 to 18:00, testing outside those hours will not show results either.
