To provide users with a safe, trustworthy advertising ecosystem, Google will require advertisers to complete one or more verification programs (Google's announcement is here). Below, Optimus covers key points about the verification programs you must complete.

Contents

1. Verification steps

Step 1: About your business

In this step, Google asks a few basic questions about your Google Ads account and business, such as:

  • Is your business an advertising agency?

  • Who pays for your ads?

  • Do you advertise your own products/services or someone else's?

  • What is your industry?

Step 2: Verify your identity

You need to provide documents required for verification, such as:

  • Organization documents

  • Business registration certificate

  • Investment registration certificate

  • Identification documents to verify your identity

  • Driver's license

  • Passport

  • Identity card

Step 3: Verify your business operations

Based on your answers in step 1, "About your business", Google may ask you to verify details of your business operations, where applicable, with supporting documents. These may cover your business model, business registration information, the types of services you provide, business practices and your relationship with the advertised brand, product or third party, if any.

2. Deadline for completing verification

- You have 30 days to submit verification after receiving the notification (if you do not submit it, your ads will be paused).

- Google may take 5–7 business days to review your documents.

3. Who represents you for advertiser verification

This verification process must be completed by an authorized representative. This person must be an administrator of the Google Ads account and/or the payments profile paying for the ads.

In summary, business verification on Google Ads is an important process for improving your business's credibility and visibility on the platform. If advertisers have not completed verification or do not meet the requirements within the specified time, their account will be paused, so keep this in mind.
