3 reasons your TikTok ads are rejected

When you submit an ad and it gets rejected, the first thing to do is understand why. You can then edit your TikTok ad and resubmit it for review.

If you cannot edit the TikTok ad or feel it was rejected by mistake, you can request a review of the decision by clicking Advertiser Support.

Below, Optimus lists some common errors that can cause ad rejection for your reference:

1. Intellectual property violations in TikTok ads

Avoid using unauthorized elements in your TikTok ads and landing pages, including brands, hashtags, copyrighted content, imitations and copies.

If you have permission to use them, upload your authorization documents in Account Settings under Business Verification.

2. Consistency in TikTok ad creatives

TikTok requires consistency in the products or services you advertise across captions, text, images, videos and calls to action (CTAs). Prices must also match between your ads and website.

For example, your TikTok ad will be rejected if the creative promotes product A but the website shows product B, or if you say ‘up to 50% off’ but your website only shows ‘up to 30% off.’

3. Inaccurate and misleading TikTok ad information

TikTok requires ads not to exaggerate promises or product performance. Your creatives and URLs must also avoid malicious comparisons with other brands.

Your TikTok ad is also not supported if it contains invalid action buttons or text describing product functionality.

Optimus hopes this post helps your business avoid TikTok ad rejections. You should also regularly read the advertising policies in TikTok Business Center and review TikTok Advertising Policies for restricted and prohibited products or services.
